GENERAL SUMMARY:Under direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse and Surgical Team members,responsible for the handling of surgical instruments, supplies and equipment necessaryduring general to moderately complex surgical procedures. Ensures understanding ofthe assigned surgical procedures being performed and anticipates the needs of theassigned surgeon and surgical team members. Also provides service support related topatient preparation, patient transport, and assisting surgical care team with specificpatient care duties to meet safety and comfort needs. Responds to emergent situationsaccording to established procedures.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Demonstrates and applies knowledge of advanced surgical techniques2. Scrubs on complex surgical procedures such as:a. Liver & Multi-visceral Organ Transplantsb. Endovascular Valve Replacement and/or Aneurysm Repair, TeVAR, FeVARc. Cardiac Surgical Team Membershipd. Ability to scrub cases involving Cardiopulmonary Bypasse. HIPEC3. Demonstrates critical thinking skills in relation to anticipating the perioperative needsof the patient and surgeon.4. Prepares the operating room by setting table, instruments and supplies according totype of surgery.5. Assures proper functioning of instruments and equipment prior to use and reportsneeded repairs appropriately.
