2H Talent LLC is Hiring an Electrical Technician Near Rochester, NY

Position Summary:

The Mechanic/Electrician I is a key maintenance team member responsible for supporting production by maintaining and repairing equipment. This role requires strong mechanical and electrical aptitude and involves collaboration with both internal and external customers. The Mechanic/Electrician I will work as part of a team, but also independently, and will actively support safety, quality, good manufacturing practices, and preventive maintenance programs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Set up, repair, install, and maintain machinery and equipment, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

- Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment calibration.

- Conduct production equipment setups as needed to meet operational requirements.

- Diagnose electrical and mechanical malfunctions in machinery; inspect machines to identify causes of malfunctions.

- Report the need for repairs and major fixes to the Maintenance Management team.

- Communicate with previous shifts to review production schedules, current runs, and plan repairs or product changeovers.

- Collaborate effectively with other departments to communicate equipment status and repair needs.

- Assist with the installation of new equipment and continuous improvement upgrades.

- Perform basic fabrication tasks, such as cutting, welding, grinding, and soldering.

- Enhance knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems through on-the-job training.

- Work closely with Engineering, Maintenance Managers, and Master Mechanics on projects and during plant shutdowns.

- Adhere to safety, food safety, SQF, and industry guidelines during all tasks.

- Report any food safety or quality concerns to authorized personnel.

Required Education, Skills & Experience:

- High School Diploma or GED required.

- Basic computer literacy (ability to conduct searches, send emails with attachments, etc.).

- Proficiency in reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, procedure manuals, and maintenance instructions.

- Strong math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).

- Problem-solving abilities in situations with limited standardization.

- Experience working with manufacturing equipment, including 3-phase motors, control wiring, 24VDC, 120VAC, 208/220VAC, and 480VAC.

- Knowledge of conveyor systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, pumps, and valves.

- Ability to troubleshoot and understand production machinery (e.g., fillers, rinsers, cappers, case packers, case formers, coolers, and pasteurizers).

- Familiarity with Lock-Out Tag-Out, Hot Work, Confined Space, and HECP training is preferred.

- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and use a variety of measuring tools and test equipment.

- Experience with multi-meters, amp probes, megger ohm meters, and panel view controls is preferred.

- Mechanical aptitude and ability to work independently with limited supervision.

- Experience with maintenance tools such as drill press, chop saw, port-a-band, sawzall, and more.

- Familiarity with kitchen equipment, pumps, milling machines, lathes, and drill press.

- Experience with X-ray equipment, photo eyes, light curtains, and conveyors.

- Familiarity with digital multimeters, clamp-on AC current readers, and motor megger.

Working Conditions:

- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to:

- Long periods of standing and moving.

- Working around moving mechanical parts and conveyors.

- Hot, cold, wet, and dry conditions.

- Frequent lifting, reaching, pulling, climbing stairs, stooping, kneeling, and bending.

- Loud noise levels.
