Reports to : Practice Manager and Business Manager

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :

A dental billing specialist and administrative assistant is in charge of managing payments for patients in a dental practice and assisting with a variety of administrative tasks.

The position includes communicating with patients and dental or health insurance companies to request payments for services rendered.

SPECIFIC DUTIES :

  • Managing, collecting, and posting all billing information
  • Communicating with patients, insurance companies, and any other involved parties
  • Creating and issuing statements on as-needed basis
  • Addressing any billing problems or disagreements
  • Communicating with patients to help resolve any problems and find answers to questions
  • Assisting other professionals in the patient care coordination department
  • Monitoring payments and accounts to look for any discrepancies
  • This position additionally takes on the role of Treatment Coordinator / Front Desk as needed

REQUIREMENTS :

Education / experience :

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years work experience in dentistry preferred
  • Computer skills with dental software

  • Good interpersonal skills to maintain effective rapport with patients, dentists, other staff members and community
  • Effective verbal skills to communicate with patients and staff
