The Opportunity This position works out of our Plymouth, MN location OR our Woodridge location in St. Paul, MN in the SH division. Structural Heart Business Mission: why we exist Our business purpose is to restore health and improve quality of life through the design and provision of device and management solutions for the treatment of structural heart disease. As the Software Engineer, you'll have the chance to provide technical leadership to a Graphical User Interface (GUI) application developed within the Qt 6.5 framework using QML and JavaScript while also providing support of providing Linux OS configuration support/changes. The incumbent will draw support from internal and external resources while serving as an individual contributor in key areas of risk and novelty. What You’ll Work On Convert UI/UX wireframe designs into functional GUI applications utilizing prevalent development frameworks. Configure device drivers for peripherals within a Linux-based operating system, optimized for low-power Intel CPUs Develop software responsible for managing the front-end components of cloud connectivity. Collaborate with cybersecurity engineering to enhance the security of both new and existing software implementations. Oversee the feature/defect backlog within JIRA, facilitate Change Control Board (CCB) meetings, and drive decision-making processes. Implement and document testing tools, and manage code repositories. Document all stages of software development, testing, and deployment in compliance with quality system requirements. Required Qualifications Minimum 3 years industry experience of software development experience with a track record of delivering working software. Experience with configuration of Linux-based OS (e.g., Ubuntu, YOCTO), including configuration of peripherals such as WiFi, BLE, HDMI, USB, etc. Experience in Graphical User Interface (GUI) development frameworks; experience with Qt is desired Strong familiarity with common programming languages such as C , C#, JavaScript, etc. Familiarity with development tools (IDEs, configuration management systems, debuggers, unit test frameworks) Familiarity with software development best practices, including version control and Agile methodologies Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment that operates like a startup. Ability to strategically plan and make data-driven decisions. A bias towards action and ability to promote a positive, supportive team culture. Excellent written and spoken communication skills, capable of communicating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to take calculated risks and encourage innovation. Ability to pragmatically manage competing tradeoffs that span quality, regulatory, and technical domains. Ability to work autonomously and pro-actively engage across multiple verticals to clarify design requirements. Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cloud Computing or related. MS/PhD preferred. Preferred Qualifications Experience with GUI development using Qt 6.5 framework using QML and JavaScript languages. Experience in full stack of Bluetooth and WiFi. Experience in front-end development of cloud-connected software Familiarity with IEC 62304 Software Development Lifecycle Processes Experience in the use / deployment of a requirements management environment, such as DOORS, JAMA or Cognition Cockpit Familiarity of or willingness to learn the development of AI/ML-enabled features using python.
