JOB TITLE: Alliance Project Coordinator
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Prevention Director
360 Youth Services is searching for the next Alliance Project Coordinator of the Community Alliance for Prevention. We are excited to report the outgoing coordinator will be stepping into the role of Prevention Director at 360.
POSITION SUMMARY
This full-time salaried non-exempt grant funded position focuses on the prevention of alcohol, nicotine, marijuana, prescription medication, and other drug use among the youth, parents/adults of our community. This staff person works directly and primarily with: adults and youth in the community; representatives of key community sectors including Youth; Parent; Business; Media; School/Education; Youth Serving Organizations; Law Enforcement; Faith Community; Civic/Volunteer Organizations; Health Care; Local Government; and Organizations specializing in substance use reduction and/or mental health related services.
The primary responsibilities of this position include working within the Drug-Free Communities grant to provide support and leadership for the Community Alliance for Prevention, while building shared leadership (capacity) within the Alliance. The mission of the Alliance is to strengthen our community in order to prevent and reduce youth substance use. The vision of the Alliance is our community, working together proactively, using best practice substance use prevention strategies, to promote community-level change that impacts our youth. Our community includes all those living and doing business within the geographic boundaries of school districts 203 & 204.
The Project Coordinator will become an expert on the Drug-Free Communities Grant and work alongside and guide the Alliance Leadership Team and Alliance members in their ongoing work on assessment, capacity building, planning, implementation, evaluation, cultural competency and sustainability. The Project Coordinator will work with the Alliance to build and sustain an effective coalition; make data-driven decisions; focus on evidence-based environmental strategies and community or population level change; on substance use prevention best practices; membership of the coalition; and building a sustainability plan which includes volunteer membership/resources, both financial and material.
This position requires direct involvement in a variety of activities including, but not limited to, record keeping, grant and outcome reporting, financial documentation, community presentations and public relations/marketing. This position requires active work with Alliance committees and work teams, as well as work in all aspects of the Strategic Prevention Framework. All efforts should be directed not only toward assuring quality of service provision, but also toward protecting the integrity and respect of the children, youth, adults, schools, agencies and other organizations served.
This position requires attendance at the CADCA National Leadership Forum 2024 Jan 29-February 2 Washington DC and the CADCA Mid-Year Institute in July 14-18, 2024 in Chicago to help establish an understanding of the position and DFC system. Other training may be required.
This position will work as part of a larger agency prevention team providing substance use prevention programming at the junior and high school levels. The Prevention Director and another key staff person also serve on the Alliance. The Alliance Project Coordinator will work with 360 prevention staff as a team and will on occasion be asked to support the work of the prevention team on other projects as necessary.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Work with and support a core team of school and community partners and other 360 Prevention Department staff to provide implementation of all the tasks associated with developing, facilitating, and evaluating an effective coalition working with the Drug-Free Communities Grant.
2. Maintains various records, program files, statistics, needs assessment, outcomes data and complete/ submits program and grant reports as required by the Alliance, Program Director, Agency Director, Drug-Free Communities Grant and any other funding agency.
3. Responsible for meeting expectations and standards of the project as required by funding agencies and 360 Youth Services, including training requirements.
4. Works with the Alliance Project Director, the Alliance, the Prevention Department and 360 as an advocate for social change, best practices in prevention, and towards overcoming racial bias in prevention, promoting diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging for people of color and people who identify as LGBTQ for the enrichment and advancement of our agency, coalition and programs’ culture and services for youth and families.
5. Work collaboratively with Alliance members, schools and other community sectors, representing the coalition and agency, as determined by the Project Director at local, county-wide, state and national prevention levels as needed.
6. Work collaboratively with 360 Prevention Team and the Alliance to provide prevention education for community sectors including parents, school and local government.
7. Report to the Prevention Director about the status of the program, effectiveness of service delivery and outcomes, and work together to plan around obstacles, prioritize efforts and continue to provide leadership around prevention
8. Working with the prevention team on program planning, and other projects as determined.
9. Work flexible work hours including some evenings and occasional weekend hours.
10. Travel is required for some meetings and trainings.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
1. Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a related field or with three years of applicable experience which included facilitating collaborative projects with community groups or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
2. Experience working effectively with people, youth and adults, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills, honesty, kindness, positive and respectful communication patterns.
3. Demonstrate a commitment to the values and ethics of a professional employee of 360 Youth Services: inclusive, empowering, authentic, affirming, compassionate, and respectful.
4. Knowledge, skill and experience in facilitating effective community collaboratives or coalition building consensus, applying project management methods and tools.
5. Strong verbal and written communication.
6. Knowledge of and experience with community organizing, theory and practices of public and community health and effective coalitions.
7. Knowledge of and experience with evidence-based and best practice substance use prevention and environmental strategies, including policy work.
8. Knowledge of and experience working with the Strategic Prevention Framework.
9. Knowledge of current developments, literature and sources of information in the field of alcohol, nicotine, marijuana, prescription medication, other drugs and other high-risk behavior prevention, including adverse and protective childhood experiences, asset building and strengthening protective and resiliency factors for youth and families.
10. Knowledge of and experience working with grant funding requirements and policies.
11. Ability to use own transportation for meetings and trainings.
12. Ability to engage others and ask for what is needed.
13. Time management and organizational skills.
14. The ability to establish, maintain and sustain effective working relationships with youth and adults, co-workers, the community, public officials and professionals.
15. Participate in efforts involving agency public relations, marketing, fundraising and community education.
17. Strong computer skills required, including working knowledge of Microsoft, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Survey Monkey, etc.
