This position reports to the Chief People Officer and is a strategic leader responsible for driving a cohesive strategy for managing performance, developing, and retaining top talent across 3D Systems. This role encompasses Talent Management, Culture and Employee Engagement, and Internal Communications. The Director will work closely with executive leadership to align talent strategies with business objectives to foster innovation, engagement, and high performance and build a culture of inclusion and belonging. This role requires you to be comfortable flexing between strategy and execution and being in project details to move work forward.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Primary Job ResponsibilitiesThe primary responsibilities of the Director, Global Talent and Engagement are as follows:
Talent Management
  • Strategy: Design talent management programs that identify, develop, and retain Company talent.
  • Annual Cycle of Execution: Oversee the team to execute performance management processes throughout the year, including annual goal setting, employee development, mid-year performance status, and annual performance reviews.
  • System Enhancements: Influence performance management system enhancements to drive performance transparency, accountability, and outcome measures to meet business objectives.
  • Succession Planning: Lead succession planning initiatives to ensure a strong leadership pipeline.
Culture and Employee Engagement
  • Strategy: Partner with the People & Culture leadership team to develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for employee engagement, experience, and culture, embedding elements of inclusion and belonging strategies throughout the lifecycle of an employee’s experience – from onboarding, employee performance management and development, and career planning.
  • Engagement: Design and execute employee engagement programs to enhance engagement, motivation, performance, and retention; programs such as engagement feedback mechanisms (surveys, focus groups), recognition programs, ERGs, and other opportunities to collaborate and network.
  • Experience: Execute processes, systems, and programs to promote well-being and growth and ensure that employees have a positive experience throughout their journey at 3D; this includes initiatives such as onboarding programs, career progression, and work-life integration.
  • Culture: Nurture and reinforce 3D Systems’ desired culture through collaboration with leaders and employees to foster a culture of inclusivity, positivity, innovation, and high performance globally.
  • C hange Management: Support organizational change efforts, new processes, and initiatives by ensuring that employees are engaged and supportive of changes through effective communication and change management plans.
  • Metrics and Analytics: Monitor and analyze key metrics related to employee engagement, satisfaction, and culture. Use data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and to measure impact of program initiatives.
Internal Communications
  • Strategy: Drive a comprehensive internal communications strategy to ensure consistent, transparent, and effective communication across all levels of 3D Systems, using various communication channels.
  • Leadership Communications: Support executive leadership in crafting and delivering key messages in alignment with Company goals.
  • Messaging Alignment: Collaborate with other members of the People & Culture team, and other departments, such as Marketing, to align culture, engagement, and communication efforts with broader organizational goals.
  • Crisis Communications: Manage internal communication plans for crisis situations, ensuring employees are informed and supported during emergencies, and to maintain trust and confidence among employees.
Strategic Leadership
  • Lead a high-performing team of HR and communication professionals, providing mentorship and development opportunities.
  • Stay current on industry trends and best practices to drive innovation in talent management and engagement strategies.
  • Leverage data analytics to drive decision-making and measure impact of talent initiatives.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
QualificationsEducation and Training
Bachelor’s degree, or global equivalent practical experience in the fields of Human Resources, Business Administration, or other applicable field of study.
Experience
  • At a minimum, 10 years of progressive experience developing project plans with hands-on experience creating talent strategies and implementing talent-related programs.
  • Experience in leading talent strategies for manufacturing environments is preferred, but not required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Deep understanding of DEI principles, organizational culture, and employee engagement.
  • Proven experience in a global environment, with insight and sensitivity to cultural influences.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of developing and leading high-performing teams.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, and ability to implement new ideas.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Courage to make tough decisions and deliver difficult messages with professionalism and poise.
  • Proficiency in HR technologies and data analytics to make insightful decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change with capability to adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and project management skills, and flourish in an environment where you work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Able to work collaboratively within and across departments to achieve organizational goals.
  • Experience managing budgets and resources.
  • Intuitive, empathetic, and lead with compassion and courage.
  • Excel in an environment where tactical and strategic activities operate in parallel, implementing ideas from ideation to measurement/evaluation.
  • Focus on delivering measurable outcomes and driving continuous improvement.
