MANAGER, IT INFRASTRUCTURE

ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Manager, IT Infrastructure is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization’s IT infrastructure. This includes managing and working hands-on alongside a team of IT professionals, ensuring the reliability and performance of the network, servers, and storage systems, and aligning IT infrastructure with the strategic goals of the company.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Leadership and Management:
  • Lead and manage a team of IT infrastructure specialists, including network engineers and system administrators
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for IT infrastructure in line with organizational objectives.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching and mentoring to team members.
  • Manage the budget for the IT infrastructure department.
  • Manage incoming tickets and ensure team meets SLA requirements
Infrastructure Management:
  • Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software related to servers, networks, and storage in both data center and cloud environments.
  • Ensure the security, reliability, and efficiency of IT infrastructure.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for infrastructure management, including disaster recovery and data backup.
  • Monitor infrastructure performance and make recommendations for improvements.
Project Management:
  • Plan and manage IT infrastructure projects, including upgrades, migrations, and new implementations.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure infrastructure projects meet business needs.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
Vendor Management:
  • Manage relationships with vendors and service providers.
  • Evaluate and select new technologies and services.
  • Negotiate contracts and ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
Compliance and Security:
  • Ensure IT infrastructure complies with relevant compliance and regulatory standards (i.e. SOX).
  • Partner with Cyber Security team to implement and maintain security software and policies
  • Implement and maintain security measures to protect the organization’s data and systems.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and audits.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field or relevant experience
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in IT infrastructure management.
  • Proven experience in managing and leading IT teams.
  • Experience with network and server management, virtualization, and cloud services.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Willingness to work hands-on alongside a small team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure technologies and best practices.
  • Experience with IT project management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong vendor management and negotiation skills.
Certifications:
Relevant certifications such as ITIL, PMP, or technical certifications (e.g., Cisco, Microsoft, Nutanix, VMware) are preferred.
Core Technologies:
  • Microsoft (Azure, Azure GovCloud, Office 365, Exchange Online/On-Prem, Active Directory, Entra ID)
  • Nutanix or comparable virtualization/VM management
  • Commvault or comparable backup solutions
  • Cisco (switches, routers, firewalls, wireless, SDWAN, VPN)
