Summary: The Complex Placement Specialist is the primary consultant advising HUB retail production, service staff, and their clients on complex property placements in the personal lines space, primarily focusing on catastrophe exposed excess and surplus (E&S) lines placements. The Complex Placement Specialist has a primary responsibility for maintaining strong relationships and optimizing E&S placements throughout HUB with: High Net Worth markets E&S solutions Proprietary slips through wholesalers/Managing General Agencies (MGAs)/Managing General Underwriters (MGUs) Open market solutions in local markets, US and London State facilities Alternative risk transfer solutions Responsibilities: Develop and maintain key relationships with carrier representatives, underwriters, business partners, and HUB colleagues Provide professional insurance guidance, expertise, and service to internal clients around coverage, terms and pricing solutions in the E&S marketplace Partner with the High Net Worth producer teams to advise clients on the state of the market, capacity and pricing and constructed program solutions Assist agents with: conducting comprehensive coverage reviews to meet clients' specific needs, identifying gaps, and devising appropriate solutions Apply policy interpretation expertise and experienced-based judgment to advise service colleagues how to best resolve escalated complex service issues between clients and insurance carriers Provide regional “concierge” level assistance on the placement of E&S business Utilize modelling software and HUB risk services consulting practices to present viable solutions for clients around risk hardening and post loss mitigation Maintain knowledge and understanding of: current market underwriting appetite; E&S trends; insurance company/industry changes; rating technique and coverage development; and other external conditions that may impact E&S Educate peers how to navigate all aspects of the E&S business, including but not limited to, placement and market trends Prepare data analysis and reporting reports for management Travel to internal and external clients as needed Remain current with all continued education requirements for licenses and/or professional designations Perform other duties and projects as assigned Requirements: Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience 7 years of insurance broker and/or carrier experience, with: demonstrated proficiency in the personal and commercial lines spaces; knowledge of the complex personal lines marketplace; and placement experience Must hold a current Property & Casualty license, and be in good standing in all required lines and states Must be current with all necessary continuing education credits in required lines and states CIC, CPCU, CPRIA or other advanced professional designation strongly preferred Excellent oral and written communications skills Ability to work independently and able to manage carrier/wholesale relationships with little guidance Proficiency with computer systems, including Microsoft Office and automated agency management systems.
