**Job Responsibilities:**
* Settle patient in exam room and prepare patient, as necessary, by taking chief complaint, medical history, medication reconciliation and vital signs: temperature, weight, height, blood pressure, conduct blood, urine tests and other measurements as needed
* Provide phlebotomy and EKG services
* Maintain appropriate logs: vaccines, point of care testing, and medication refrigerator
* Retrieve lab results from CUMC or NYPH labs, as well as outside labs
* Respond to in basket messages, which include medication refills, patient issues, scheduling and referral requests
* Maintain clean and orderly patient exam rooms, medical assistant stations and workrooms after each patient visit
* Maintain supplies in exam rooms, as well as phlebotomy and lab supplies
* Responsible for cross-covering with other Medical Assistants & front desk
* Verify/update all patient demographic information, insurance eligibility, etc.
* Review/process patient unpaid balances and arrivals through the EPIC system indicating arrivals, cancellations and no-shows
* Collect all co-pays and patient fees, outstanding balances and/or provide patient with Billing office contact information to resolve outstanding balances
* Any other related duties as assigned
**Job Qualifications:**
* HS Diploma or the equivalent in education, training and experience in a clinical practice preferred.
* CMA certification required.
* 1-2 years of experience.
* Bilingual (Spanish), Knowledge of electronic medical record systems preferred, Experience with GYN, and BCLS certified
