Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. It is preferred that you live in the State of CO. We are looking for 1 full time employee or 2 part time employees. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical billing processes and coding procedures as well as group/individual credentialing experience. The ideal candidate will work from home and must prove that they have a designated office space to bill out of.

Responsibilities:

- Review and verify accuracy of billing data
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies
- Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe
- Check each insurance payment for accuracy and compliance with contract discount
- Call insurance companies regarding any discrepancy in payments if necessary
- Identify and bill secondary or tertiary insurances
- Appeal denied claims
- Answer client inquiries

Qualifications:

- Proficiency in medical billing systems
- Knowledge of medical records, ICD-10, ICD-9, DRG, and medical terminology
- Experience in medical office billing procedures
- Formal training on coding/billing
- Strong understanding of medical collection practices
