About the Job:

We are seeking a highly skilled Estimator/Project Manager to join our flooring group. As an Estimator/Project Manager, you will be responsible for reviewing and preparing budgets, estimates, and soliciting/evaluating quotes from suppliers/subcontractors for construction projects. Upon project award, you will manage the project until completion, with support from seasoned superintendents and project engineers.

Responsibilities:

Estimating:

  • Manage multiple estimates and proposals concurrently
  • Perform accurate and thorough quantity take-offs using multiple software systems and web applications
  • Evaluate drawings, specs, and other bid documents for all involved scope
  • Conduct site visits, pre-bid meetings, and perform detailed scope evaluations for all trade work

Project Management:

  • Submit required samples, product data, and shop drawings for approval by the architect
  • Review shop drawings and relay pertinent information to the field team
  • Procure all project required materials
  • Manage, price, and track all change orders, plan revisions, and RFI’s
  • Manage project costs and forecast/analyze construction costs, exposures, and profits
  • Submit record drawings, maintenance manuals, and warranties for smooth project closeout
  • Attend progress meetings throughout projects, as required

Computer Equipment and Software Requirements:

  • Required: Bluebeam (or similar) PDF viewer/takeoff software, Microsoft Applications (Windows, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Preferred: Measure Square 8 or On-Screen Take-off

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Education: A.S. or B.S. in Construction or equivalent field experience
  • Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years commercial construction experience

  • Excellent written and oral communication and team skills
  • Dependable, consistent, diligent, and thorough
  • Creative and resourceful in completing tasks accurately in a compressed timeframe
  • Professional and proud of ownership in assigned responsibilities
  • Flexible through changing conditions
