80Twenty is Hiring a Head of Copy Near Chicago, IL

Our client is a successful and growing consumer goods company, who is looking for their next Head of Copy to work alongside the Creative Director to develop concepts and directions for creative ideas, campaigns, executions, and positioning.

This person will oversee the creative experience across multiple channels and work Brand team and be responsible for crafting the voice of the brand across multiple touch points, including digital media, physical consumer experiences, and product naming and packaging.

This is a hybrid role based in the Los Angeles area. Relocation is required for candidates outside the area. There is no remote option.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of creative strategies, defining the brand voice, and crafting overall copy.
  • Partner with the creative team to establish the conceptual direction and copy for branding, marketing, and advertising efforts.
  • Foster consensus on design choices by gathering, synthesizing, and managing feedback from various sources.
  • Engage in hands-on copywriting and creative execution, from initial concepts through production and delivery, to create a cohesive vision for marketing campaigns across diverse channels and customer interactions.
  • Ensure that content and communications are consistent with the brand across digital, social, advertising, and experiential channels.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create branding and messaging strategies that align with overall objectives.
  • Partner with strategic planners to develop product marketing communications and generate creative copywriting solutions.
  • Collaborate with the in-house brand design team to produce strategic marketing materials for projects such as product packaging, digital marketing (emails, web banners, social media, digital experiences, social assets, etc.), retail displays, internal sales communications, and video content.
  • Transform creative direction and copy points from briefs into compelling and effective copy concepts.
  • Manage and guide in-house copywriters.

Qualifications:

  • 8 years in a creative role focused on brand.
  • Experience in CPG.
  • Significant experience in-house at a brand.
  • Experience managing a team of copywriters.

Base: $150,000 - $175,000, depending on experience with strong benefits including healthcare and 401k.
