The primary duty of the Design Manager in Training involves exercising discretion and independent judgment in managing the design of components manufactured by 84 Lumber. This includes interpreting and designing engineered components and panels from architectural prints to produce placement layouts and engineered truss drawings. The role requires providing supervision, leadership, and development for the design technical staff to efficiently manage these design-related tasks. Additionally, the position involves mentoring designers to enhance their communication skills and supervising their work to ensure accuracy and quality in designs.
ResponsibilitiesInterpretation and design of engineered components and panels from architectural prints to produce placement layouts and engineered truss drawings.
Supervise and direct designers’ work to ensure accurate designs.
Scheduling design work.
Managing and resolving customer related design issues and other miscellaneous design issues.
Developing designer’s skills to enable them to advance through the design levels.
Effective communication with other teams, including sales, production, customer service and management
