Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing? You will directly impact the way in which VCF developers engage with SCM (Perforce, GitHub), and Build infrastructure You will analyze business problems, and requirements and spearhead engineering efforts to meet objectives You will proactively identify development productivity and operational risks, and implement tools and services to address them. You will engage with Sr. Engineering leaders to design, review, and code solutions. You will ensure that the IT DevOps organization understands and is aligned to VCF business requirements and delivers projects to specification. The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis? Educate your colleagues as to the latest SCM (Perforce, GitHub) features, tools, technologies, and practices to enhance system functionality and efficiency. Define/Refine, and Implement best practices for SCM usage, including branching, merging, and automation. Develop monitoring to ensure SCM (Perforce, GitHub) tools and infrastructure are satisfying SLOs and engage service owners as needed to respond to production issues. Implement tools to enable, and support monorepo development and operations. Understand version control needs across the enterprise and confidently communicate best-practices to a variety of stakeholders. Create high-quality documentation (some of which will be in code), helping to maintain procedures, guidelines, and training materials. What is the leadership like for this role? Additional Job Description: Compensation and Benefits The annual base salary range for this position is $127,000 - $225,000. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
