9/8 Central is Hiring a Project Manager Near Greenville, SC

9/8 Central, an EMMY award-winning video production company in Greenville, SC, is looking for a project manager to join our team.

A little about you: you have unbeatable organizational skills that probably started early in childhood and got your parents worried.

A million details? Bring it. Clients with ooooooooone more change to a video? Not a problem. Juggling a bunch of flaming chainsaws? Heck no. We’re trying to hire a project manager, not a lumberjack. But if that’s something you can do, we’re fine cheering you on from a safe distance.

You see disorder as an outrage and those who perpetrate it as people who should be stopped. Fair warning though: our CEO is one of those people so love him through the process if you can.

Speaking of loving people, you’re great at communicating with clients, ensuring they have everything they need before they even know they need it. Are you clairvoyant? Maybe. Did you know we were going to ask that? Probably.

Long story short, you’ll have no problem managing client projects, leading meetings, and keeping a heck of a lot of communication moving and organized.

If you’re weird enough to love spreadsheets, processes, and an empty inbox, we would love to chat.

Responsibilities

  • First in line to all content/social media client communication
  • Quickly, accurately, and efficiently pass context on to team for execution
  • Keep all project documentation, notes, and other context organized
  • Facilitate meetings with our social media and podcast clients
  • Manage and coordinate multiple projects at once
  • Manage project workflow in our project management system
  • Ensure the editing team has all the files needed to edit content
  • Keep social and editing team accountable to project deadlines
  • Onboard new podcast clients onto our processes
  • Maintain studio schedule, particularly for retainer and podcast clients
  • Compile monthly podcast billing and send to our accounting team

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in project management or account management (preferably in an agency)
  • Extremely organized and loves being in the weeds on details–you have unbeatable organizational and time management skills
  • Team player with a passion for giving clients the very best experience possible
  • Clear, efficient, and comfortable communicator
  • Creative and independent problem solver
  • Proficient with Google Docs, Sheets, and other productivity/meeting tools

Qualifications

$50,000 - $60,000 per year

Benefits

  • Unlimited PTO
  • Employee emergency fund
  • Corporate chaplain
  • Corporate assistance program
  • Free primary health care

Hours

40 hour week on average, but some weeks may be busier than others

Our Core Values

We live and hire by our core values of Fearlessness, Accountability, Communication, Servant’s Heart, and Hunger. Here’s what that means for this role.

Fearlessness

  • You can solve problems independently
  • You’re not afraid to ask for what you need
  • You’re not afraid to keep the team accountable

Accountability

  • You’re highly organized and know when deadlines are coming
  • You’re committed to ensuring the clients have the best experience by holding the team accountable
  • You’re rigorous about processes
  • You do what you say you’re going to do (and make sure others do the same, too)

Communication

  • You’re polite, but succinct and efficient
  • You enjoy building relationships with your clients
  • You should strive to be the best communicator on the team
  • You run meetings with a velvet-covered iron fist

Servant’s heart

  • You’re okay being what we call a “little-j jerk”
  • You go the extra mile to make sure clients (and team!) are well taken care of
  • You’re committed to getting your team what they need to do their job well

Hunger

  • You’re not satisfied with the current level of processes and efficiency. You’re always looking for ways to improve
  • You don’t let problems go unsolved: you’re determined to fix things instead of letting them sit

About 9/8 Central

If you’ve always wanted to be a part of a tight-knit team that works hard and makes creative videos, then you may just like it around here. We’re growing fast. And we’re doing the kind of work that brings us fulfillment and scratches our creative itch: from commercials to brand videos to social media content.

Some days the work is hard but we always strive to keep our environment upbeat and positive. There’s no room for negativity here.

We don’t film weddings or events. And we don’t do low-production “spray and pray” type shoots. Our projects are filmed with intentionality and an eye for quality.

When we’re not working, we’re playing: filming shorts and other projects for fun and to grow.

Clients include GE, CAT, Ryobi, Liberty Mutual, DHL, John Deere, Home Depot, TD Bank, GE, Michelin, BMW, Milliken, Samsung, Northwestern Mutual, and Clemson University, to name a few.

Think you’d like to join us? We’d be honored to get your resume.
