JOB SUMMARY:
A RN in a nursing home setting provides high-quality nursing care to elderly or disabled residents requiring continuous medical care and rehabilitation. They work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care and support
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Patient Assessment: Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of residents' health status, monitor vital signs, and evaluate response to treatment
- Care Planning: Develop individualized care plans based on resident assessments and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated care
- Medication Administration: Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and monitor for any adverse reactions
- Wound Care: Assess and manage wounds, change dressings, and provide appropriate wound care techniques to promote healing. 5. Patient Education: Educate residents and their families about their medical conditions, medications, and self-care techniques
- Monitoring and Charting: Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and documentation of nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
- Emergency Response: Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate nursing interventions as needed.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and treatment goals.
- Family Support: Provide emotional support and guidance to residents' families and loved ones, addressing concerns and keeping them informed about their loved one's condition.
- Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and compliance activities to maintain high standards of care and regulatory compliance.
- Infection Control: Implement infection control measures to prevent the spread of infections among residents and staff members. 12. Safety: Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for residents, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
- Knowledge of nursing practices and procedures, as well as regulatory guidelines.
- Must possess an unrestricted MS RN License
- American Heart Association ALS and BLS certification
- TB or crisis prevention certification is a plus
- 3 letters of recommendation
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Prolonged periods of standing, reaching, and bending.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Pay range for this position is $1176 weekly
