JOB SUMMARY:
A RN in a nursing home setting provides high-quality nursing care to elderly or disabled residents requiring continuous medical care and rehabilitation. They work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care and support
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Patient Assessment: Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of residents' health status, monitor vital signs, and evaluate response to treatment
  • Care Planning: Develop individualized care plans based on resident assessments and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated care
  • Medication Administration: Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and monitor for any adverse reactions
  • Wound Care: Assess and manage wounds, change dressings, and provide appropriate wound care techniques to promote healing. 5. Patient Education: Educate residents and their families about their medical conditions, medications, and self-care techniques
  • Monitoring and Charting: Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and documentation of nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate nursing interventions as needed.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and treatment goals.
  • Family Support: Provide emotional support and guidance to residents' families and loved ones, addressing concerns and keeping them informed about their loved one's condition.
  • Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and compliance activities to maintain high standards of care and regulatory compliance.
  • Infection Control: Implement infection control measures to prevent the spread of infections among residents and staff members. 12. Safety: Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for residents, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
  • Knowledge of nursing practices and procedures, as well as regulatory guidelines.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Must possess an unrestricted MS RN License
  • American Heart Association ALS and BLS certification
  • TB or crisis prevention certification is a plus
  • 3 letters of recommendation
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, reaching, and bending.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
COMPENSATION:
  • Pay range for this position is $1176 weekly
