Position Summary:

Can be located in Bensenville, IL or Valparaiso, IN

The Financial Analyst’s primary responsibility is driving improvements to profitability through analyzing financial and manufacturing data. Additionally, the Financial Analyst is responsible for routine analytical assessment and reporting on production efficiency, capacity and gross margin. The Financial Analyst is also responsible for financial forecasting, budgeting, return on investment analysis, and other areas as needed. This position works closely with the Accounting and Finance team to analyze company financials while assisting with other strategic projects.

Essential Functions:

  • Prepares and presents analyses of sales, material usage, labor and overhead to add value to leadership’s understanding of profitability for a manufacturing entity
  • Works with Product Design, Operations Technology and Manufacturing teams to collect and analyze activity and costs, determine reasons for variances, recommend and implement appropriate changes to standard procedures and processes
  • Supports continuous improvement efforts through KPI development and refinement
  • Designs and implements business intelligence tools and dashboards
  • Develops financial models and assists in the annual budget process
  • Works with Sales and Manufacturing leadership to support forecasting and strategic planning
  • Implements enhancements to accounting and other systems for better visibility around profitability
  • Participates in monthly financial statement review
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned by management;

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills; strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Strong Excel skills, especially advanced financial modeling and analytical techniques;
  • Thorough understanding of manufacturing best practices and continuous improvement principles;
  • Ability to convert raw data into financial analyses;
  • Strong data presentation skills, including use of reporting tools such as Power BI;
  • Thorough understanding of database architecture and data ETL (Extract Transform Load);
  • Knowledge or experience in using sound judgment within broadly defined practices and policies;
  • Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment;
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills;
  • Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently;
  • Ability to apply knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles & Cost Accounting Standards;
  • Willingess to travel between Company locations periodically;

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or related field;
  • At least 6 years financial analysis experience in manufacturing, depending on depth of involvement;
  • Track record of working in cross functional organizations and providing guidance and coaching to a team;
