A. J. Brown, Inc. is searching for an experienced Commercial Construction Project Manager or assistant Project Manager. This position offers you an opportunity to enter into a stable, long-term career with a growing company
Essential Functions
· Exercise independent judgment and discretion when engaging and interacting with all project team members to meet the Customer’s and Company’s needs.
· Set goals, monitor results and evaluate results to meet business objectives
· Manage internal and external relationships vital to meet goals
· Proficient at strategy development and execution
· Adhere to OSHA and Company safety requirements
· Communicate effectively with internal and external team members
· Communicate regularly with Customer to ensure satisfaction
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Management
· Advanced knowledge of commercial construction project business, including estimating and construction management
· Oversee assigned projects and ensure they are executed and completed in accordance with goals
· Makes decisions and recommendations which greatly impact projects
· Manage and supervise labor, equipment and subcontractors throughout project completion
· Determine, direct and schedule staff and labor needs
· Lead project team consisting of project managers, project engineers, project superintendents and administrative staff
· Assess project risks and address potential problems and hazards
· Develop, revise and oversee schedule, quality, risk management and financial requirements for assigned projects exercising independent judgment to revise such as needed to meet project requirements
· Direct subcontractors and other construction-related personnel in planning, coordinating and executing the work in accordance with plans developed.
· Perform and direct construction document management
· Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to project team
· Develop and manage projects’ budgets
· Create and update project schedules
· Execute the project safety and quality plans
· Lead and perform procurement process to ensure timely execution of work
· Lead and perform project change management process
· Lead and perform project closeout effort to ensure deliverables are submitted in a timely manner
Financial Management
· Ability to accurately assess profit/loss responsibility and current financial status for assigned projects
· Deliver top and bottom-line results
People Management
· Provide advice, guidance and direction to subordinate managers, engineers, superintendents and administrative staff toward their professional development
Subcontractor Management
· Negotiate with and engage in subcontractor solicitation during the bidding process
· Compare and analyze competitive subcontractor and supplier bids
· Perform subcontractor buyout including the writing of subcontractor scopes of work and necessary subcontract exhibits.
· Maintain Company safety and quality standards with subcontractors and vendors
Safety Leadership/Business Management
· Adhere to OSHA and Company safety requirements
· Complete job site safety assessments
· Hold team accountable to maintain high safety standards
· Promote the safety and security of employees
· Assist in Business Development efforts to acquire new Customers and maintain/grow existing Customer relationships

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred
· Advanced knowledge of the construction industry with an understanding of industry trends and innovations
