Position Summary: This position has the responsibility of designing/revising plans including preparing/updating customer drawings. Generating files for use by our operations team and their machinery. Ensuring high levels of organizational effectiveness, detail management and clear, prompt and professional communication is key.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Design/Revise designs using SolidWorks 3D modeling software
• Maintain workflow dashboards to effectively manage projects
• Learn manufacturing process to create production drawings for use internally
• Learn and understand end to end process and be a key contributor to project success
• Create, edit and update standard details and drawings for use in future projects
• Review drawings against project scope to verify accuracy of dimensions, tolerances, angles in accordance with knowledge of materials and tools used
• Prioritize and self-manage pace of work to meet, or exceed, deadlines
• Innovate and solve technical problems as they arise
• Communicate and collaborate between departments and colleagues with various projects
• Review issues on the production floor and assist with their needs
• All other duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE

• 2-year degree in technical field or equivalent experience
• Experience with SolidWorks 3D solid modeling software with sheet metal design
• Knowledge of DriveWorks, SigmaNest, and /or Radan nesting software would be helpful
• 2 years of experience preferred with mechanical aptitude and experience with various raw materials and products are processed and manufactured is desirable
• Proficient with MS software

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principals is preferred
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Communicate effectively through written, verbal, listening, and presentation skills

PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

• Ability to rarely (1-5%) lift/reach/push/pull/carry up to 10 pounds and up to 50 pounds with assistance
• Constant ability to sit for long durations (duration of shift excluding breaks)
• Frequent (34-66%) use of hands and fingers for fine manipulation
• Frequent (34-66%) use of keyboard
• Rarely (1-5%) kneeling, squatting, twisting, climbing
• Rarely (1-5%) standing and walking
• Rarely (1-5%) exposed to loud noises, dust, debris while assisting production
