This position requires calling on agricultural accounts in the field to generate new permanent sales.
Responsibilities:
Propose customer solutions that are compliant with appropriate local, state and federal regulations
Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of services and pricing structure.
Identify leads, manage prospects and acquire new business
Determine customer needs and propose appropriate service needs
Complete scheduled and cold call prospecting activities to establish first and follow up appointments with customer decision makers
Prepare and deliver sales proposals/presentations and follow up with key decision makers
Complete required Customer Service Agreements reports and other paperwork in a timely manner and in accordance with Company policy
Develop and maintain an awareness of market behavior and competitive trends and respond accordingly
Regularly meet with General Manager to review sales activities, progress on goals, and status of prospective customers
Other duties, as assigned
Requirements, Skills & Experience:
Agriculture or a similar industry experience required
Experience in developing and executing territory sales strategies
Must be self-motivated and able to work independently to meet or exceed goals
Possess strong presentation, negotiation, and closing skills
Possess proven analytical/problem solving solutions for the customer and the company
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must use sound judgment when recommending solutions customer problems
Must present self with a professional demeanor
Must be organized with good time management skills
Computer proficient with Microsoft Suite and other software programs as necessary
Qualifications:
Agriculture or similar industry required
Minimum 2 years outside business-to-business sales with a proven track record of success
Bachelor’s Degree in Business preferred
High school diploma or equivalent
Qualifications:
A minimum of 2 years outside sales experience required or demonstrate significant revenue increase as result of sales performance / creating new accounts
Sales experience post-harvest treatment preferred
Bachelor’s Degree in Business preferred; High School Diploma or equivalent
Knowledge of the usage of food-grade chemicals for pre and post-harvest a plus
Physical/Other Requirements:
The hours and level of responsibility may vary by season
Required travel within Pacific Northwest with some overnight stays
Required to work in inclement weather
Must have a flexible schedule; early morning, evening & weekends as needed
English Literacy required
Must successfully complete pre-employment drug testing
Good driving record; able to meet and maintain driving qualifications
Ability to drive long distances
