The Head of Executive Office role is a pivotal role in helping us achieve that mission & deliver on the significant growth potential within the leagues & our clubs. What we are looking for in this role is someone that can provide executive support to the senior leadership of the business, help to navigate internal and external stakeholders and build upon the organisational culture. They need to be versatile, detail oriented and be able to be thrown into any situation within the business to assist in finding a solution. This can range from taking the lead on one of our strategic cross-functional projects to simply ensuring the day to day operations of the business is running smoothly.
The OpportunityExecutive Support
  • Manage the schedule of the Commissioner to ensure time is optimised and priorities met including booking meetings, travel and correspondence.
  • Collate and prepare briefing notes, papers and presentations in order to prepare key executive management for internal or external meetings or events.
  • Assist in the collation of key materials for meetings including Board meetings.
  • Manage communications to the APL Chair, Board and subcommittees to drive efficiency and good governance including scheduling Board meetings.
  • Drive continuous improvement of organisational gaps and inefficiencies.
  • Follow up and ensure leaders are accountable for the outcomes/deliverables.
Relationship & Stakeholder Management
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including but not limited to;
  • A-League Clubs
  • Football Australia
  • Member Federations
  • Commercial Partners
  • Professional Footballers Australia (union)
  • Key Suppliers e.g travel consultants, airlines, hotels etc; and
  • Other relevant sports and media executives.
  • Assist in the curation of stakeholder lists and engagement around major League events, such as Grand Finals.
Office Management
  • Provide office management and key direction on the running of an effective office for all departments within the business
  • Undertake and delegate (where required) general office duties, ensuring office facilities are adequately managed and supplies are replenished, and staff are adequately supported in their day-to-day office needs, troubleshoot office equipment, amenities key contact etc.
  • Manage corporate travel arrangements for staff and special events, coordinating with APL’s travel, accommodation and transport suppliers.
  • Lead the ideation and delivery of regular and planned team building and social activities for staff which align with the company values and enrich the organisation
  • Act as the key contact for IT supplier on administration on IT requirements, logistical support and roll out of key initiatives
  • Manage couriers and other ad-hoc requirements.
About You
  • Degree qualified - Preferred but not essential
  • Sport management experience is a plus but not essential
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a senior Office Management or Project Management role.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills that can be applied across organisation levels, countries and cultures.
  • Excellent collaboration skills to work closely with senior leadership and across groups.
  • A high level of integrity, with the ability to maintain confidentiality without exception.
  • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail, a focus on execution and the ability to prioritise multiple competing tasks.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to quickly build trust and confidence with internal and external stakeholders at varying levels.
  • The ability to work autonomously in a fast paced and ever changing environment.
  • Capacity to use judgement and deal with sensitive issues in a professional and discreet manner.
