Title: Sr. IT Systems EngineerLocation: Durham, NC (1-2 days onsite, 3-4 days remote Hybrid Schedule)Schedule: Mon – Fri, 8AM/9AM – 5PM/6PM ESTFor certain roles at this client, assignment may be contingent upon the employer of record’s receipt of sufficient proof of full vaccination against COVID-19. Requests for accommodation will be considered pursuant to applicable law.The Sr. IT Systems Engineer will work on the Pharmacy Automation portfolio, collaborating closely with software development teams in pharmacy automation processes. Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to;
- Creating and maintaining OS images for deployment of products to customer sites
- Researching and recommending hardware to meet product requirements and customer needs
- Formally controlling and releasing hardware in corporate mfg. inventory management
- Managing license purchasing and activation processes in cooperation with manufacturing, procurement, and R&D
- Designing and implementing deployment infrastructure with manufacturing, R&D, and customer support
- Creating, testing, and deploying regular updates to address security hotfixes, driver updates, and relevant new OS features
- Designing, developing, and maintaining scripts and tooling to automatically configure security on top of base OS
- Working closely with product owners to design, develop, and maintain product deployment scripts, packages, etc.
- Working closely with IT infrastructure to remotely monitor and maintain deployed environments in the field
- Documenting processes and procedures to ensure repeatability
- Strong, general Windows system administration experience, including Group Policy, Registry, UAC, NTFS permissions, network & firewall configuration, user management, file shares, and hardware drivers
- Strong Windows centralized administration experience, including Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MEMC/SCCM), Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), or Active Directory
- Experience with OS/App security best-practices and standards
- Experience with PC workstations and server hardware building, configurations, and upgrades
- Experience with Windows automated deployment and administration tools, including Windows Autopilot, Microsoft Windows Deployment Services (WDS), or Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT)
- Experience with PC disk imaging, Acronis, Macrium, etc.
- Experience with deployment using PXE boot and WinPE
- Experience scripting/automating with PowerShell and CMD batch
- Familiarity with OS virtualization, including VMware or HyperV
- Familiarity with app virtualization, including Docker
- Familiarity with Linux, including bash scripts or init.d preferred
- Experience automating windows image creation preferred
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related field of study required; Master’s degree in a related field of study preferred
