A New Day Youth and Family Services is Hiring a Part Time Maintenance Worker Near Albuquerque, NM
Job Description
Responsible for performing or overseeing routine maintenance & repairs for a non-profit which works with youth experiencing homelessness. Must have a basic knowledge of budgets, be well organized and able to maintain weekly check lists on the agencies 4 buildings & vehicles. Able to maintain communication with Building Program Managers and Executive Leadership on timelines regarding work needed to complete. Scheduling work to be completed by vendors. Calling vendors for Bids/ Quotes & reviewing Bids/Quotes with CAFO and CPO.
Essential Duties
- Stay in communication via phone, text, and email
- Prepare weekly maintenance and repair list
- Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment
- Performing preventative maintenance when necessary
- Handing credit card receipts and expenses reports
- Handling basic repairs and maintenance including, but not limited to: Changing light bulbs, repairing screens, painting, repairing small holes in walls, and small furniture repairs
- Must have strong organizational, time management, and follow-up skills.
- Getting bids and overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary
- Overseeing volunteers who are helping with yard work or other projects
- Other duties as assigned, including grease trap, air conditioner, and heater maintenance
- Thinking out of the box
Employment Requirements
- Must be 24 years of age
- Minimum of High School or GED with 6 years’ experience working with in the maintenance/handyman field
- Willingness to work flexible hours including some weekends and evenings
- Possess a valid driver’s license, a good driving record and maintain state required automobile insurance minimums
- Proficient in Basic computer skills Example: email, web browser
- Skilled in the use of hand & power tools
- Experience performing routine maintenance
- Professional presentation and attitude
- Must be able to lift minimum of 40 pounds.
- Must understand the practice of good boundaries with youth
- Must be able to pass comprehensive criminal, sexual offender, MVD, and CYFD background checks
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $24.00 per hour
