SUMMARY: The Carousel Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the carousel ride. This role involves overseeing the ride's operation, ensuring the safety of all riders, maintaining a clean and welcoming environment, and providing excellent customer service to all guests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following, (other duties may be assigned):

  • Starts, stops, and controls the carousel ride according to operating procedures.
  • Ensures that all safety protocols are followed before, during, and after the ride.
  • Monitors the ride while it is in operation to ensure the safety and comfort of the riders.
  • Conducts safety checks and inspections before opening the ride to the public.
  • Reports any mechanical issues or safety concerns to the Ride Supervisor immediately.
  • Enforces height, weight, and safety requirements for all riders.
  • Greets guests in a friendly and welcoming manner.
  • Provides information about the ride and assists guests with boarding and exiting the carousel.
  • Addresses any guest concerns or complaints promptly and courteously.
  • Keeps the ride area clean and free of debris.
  • Disposes of trash and assists with trash collection.
  • Ensures that the ride and surrounding areas are presentable and well-maintained.
  • Cleans all equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
  • Maintains accurate records of ride operations, including attendance and any incidents.
  • Follows all company policies and procedures, including those related to health and safety.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Experience operating equipment and previous janitorial experience is preferred, by not required.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Basic Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook Web, and other computer knowledge.

LANGUAGE ABILITY:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively speak and understand English.

MATH ABILITY:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in liquid units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems related to the job. Ability to follow both written and oral instructions from managers and supervisors. Must be able to demonstrate correct use of chemicals, supplies and tools assigned. Must be able to operate mechanical equipment, once trained, and detect equipment malfunctions.
