A Very Special Place is a not for profit organization that provides services to people with developmental disabilities. The following position is available:

HANDYMAN/MAINTENANCE TECH

Full time position – Monday-Friday 9:00-5:00PM

The responsibilities of the position includes, but are not limited to the following:

· Ensuring service requests/work orders are responded to and resolved in an efficient and timely manner.

· Unclogging tubs, sinks and toilets

· Plastering/caulking and painting

· Repairing/installing doors, door locks, hinges

· Repairing/installing light fixtures, outlets and switches

· Minor carpentry repair work

· Snow removal/general maintenance of grounds as needed

· General custodial duties as needed

The requirements for the position are:

· HS Diploma/GED

· Five (5) years of experience in the maintenance of physical properties and completing general building repairs

· Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems as well as skills in operating heaving cleaning equipment

· Availability for 24/7 emergency on-call service in the absence of the Facilities Manager

· Valid Driver’s License

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.31 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
