What Impact You'll Make:
The Capital Equipment Excellence team is responsible for accelerating, with safety, quality, and focus, capacity growth across the Gas Value Stream. The organization consists of 3 workstreams; Fulfilment, Installation, and Qualification; all working together to create Standard Work and Daily Management to enable success.
The Qualification team will work cross functionally with Design Engineering, Materials Process Engineering, and Global Supply Chain to ensure that qualifications are completed safely, with the highest quality, and on time. This role will offer excellent exposure to different aspects of the business and require the engineer to wear several hats.
This job involves two main elements:
1) Working as a hybrid Manufacturing and Quality engineer to lead and drive qualifications
2) Working as a program manager to ensure alignment across the Fulfilment and Installation workstreams, as well as Global Supply Chain and Engineering

Job Description

What you'll do:

  • Working as a project manager to lead and drive installations of a assigned manufacturing capital equipment from pre-delivery to full completion of management of change process.
  • Working as an Engineer to resolve challenges involving a wide variety of manufacturing processes and adapting facilities to ensure successful industrialization.
  • Creating Qualification standards in alignment with Global Supply Chain and Engineering.
  • Attending/Facilitating Kaizens and Roadmaps to support the capacity ramp
  • Fostering strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills as well as a passion for quality and continuous improvement.
  • Leading qualifications from inception to closure, parts and special processes (coatings, brazing, etc.).
  • Appling knowledge of design and manufacturing to implement new ideas that enhance overall qualification process, reduce cost and add value.
  • Cultivating positive working environment and morale; drive a sense of urgency and quality with speed.
  • Ensuring the team delivers change that has business impact.

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Operations Management, or other Supply Chain related studies.
  • At least 7 years of relevant engineering experience.

Eligibility Requirement

  • This position is 100% onsite at our Metem facilities.
  • Ability and willingness to travel between Metem sites (Parsippany, NJ and Allentown, PA) on a frequent basis.
  • This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government export restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Persons (U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and protected individuals (e.g., certain refugees and asylees)). GE will require proof of status prior to employment. Must be legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future.

What will make you stand out:

  • 6 years of turbine engineering and/or manufacturing experience. 
  • Experience and familiarity with advanced manufacturing processes. 
  • Well versed in lean manufacturing methods.
  • PMP certification or other project management certification.
  • Ability to build trust with team members and interfacing organizations and be a team player.
  • Customer satisfaction mindset with strong Quality orientation. 
  • Experience interfacing across matrix organizations and ability to work in a dynamic environment with individuals in global locations. 
  • Ability and willingness to challenge the status quo and deliver the best GE products. 
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. 
  • Good negotiation skills.

The salary range for this position is $123,700.00 - $165,000.00 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.

This position is also eligible for 15% performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. ​

*The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.

The base pay range for this position is $103K-$145K. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, such as a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity.
