Position Overview:

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The Staff Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records, analyzing financial information, and supporting various accounting functions. This position reports directly to the Controller and offers an excellent opportunity for growth and professional development in the field of finance and accounting within the home improvement industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
• Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entry preparation and account reconciliations.
• Processing of vendor payables for all four of our locations (entering invoices, scheduling payments, maintaining vendor relationships)
• Processing of customer packing slips and order pick ups at our Philadelphia location.
• Processing of daily credit card batches relating to customer payments for our Philadelphia location.
• Assist in special projects, as needed. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial reporting requirements and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Assist with internal and external audit processes, including the preparation of audit schedules and responses to audit inquiries.
• Stay updated on accounting principles, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure compliance and efficiency in financial operations.
• Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support as requested by management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 2 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in a corporate setting or within the home improvement industry.
• Proficiency in NetSuite is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of GAAP and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to upholding ethical standards in financial practices.
