Position Summary:

The business data analyst (BDA) will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing current and proposed business operations via financial metrics, KPIs, and other key metrics. BDA responsibilities include conducting full lifecycle analysis to include requirements, activities and design. Data analysts will develop analysis and reporting capabilities. They will also monitor performance and quality control plans to identify improvements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Gather, analyze, and interpret business and industry data, including KPIs, financial reports and other key metrics using data analytics tools.

Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other reporting strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.

Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.

Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.

Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.

Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.

Filter and clean data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems.

Work with management to prioritize business and information needs.

Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.

Performs additional tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications


Education and/or Experience Requirements:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree Mathematics, Business, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics or 3 years of relevant work experience.

Knowledge Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets:

Excel, SPSS, SAS, Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience with reporting and dashboarding within Salesforce other Salesforce experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with Power BI and Tableau preferred.
  • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Effort:

  1. Typically sitting at a desk or table
  2. Intermittently sitting, standing and stopping
  3. Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.
