Position SummaryAAA United States, Inc. has partnered with a company in Lake Charles, LA that is a premier provider of VIP/VVIP interior completions for large aircraft, ranging from B737 and A320 airframes to larger Boeing and Airbus. They are a leader in designing, manufacturing, and delivering aerospace products, services, and solutions to customers on a global scale. Their primary focus is on achieving design excellence and redelivering superior quality products to private entities, government officials, heads of state, and corporate protocol operators.
The Engineering Project Group Leader plans, coordinates and supervises engineering planning and support for aircraft VIP / VVIP projects including design, analysis, planning, certification, drawing interpretation and project management. This role has leadership responsibility and is the primary liaison with external engineering resources as required.
Essential Functions
  • Develops and evaluates plans for projects and activities; assesses technical feasibility and soundness of proposed analysis, tests, or concepts being applied.
  • Provides direct supervision of employees of similar expertise for a large project or a number of small projects.
  • Communicates performance expectations, salary administration, and conducts performance appraisals.
  • Responsible for establishing and executing objectives that support short term goals.
  • Makes decisions independently on engineering problems and methods; represents the organization to resolve important issues and to plan and coordinate work.
  • Conducts briefings and participates in technical meetings concerning specific projects.
  • Acts as an advisor to subordinate leads or staff members.
  • Actively participates in daily operations as required. to meet schedules and resolve issues.
  • Executes project plan per project specialties.
  • Recommend modifications to operating policies and procedures.
  • The ability to lead a group of engineering personnel and engineering suppliers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong interpersonal skills and the ability to gain the cooperation of others.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Aerospace Engineering discipline.
  • Certified Project Manager (PMP)
  • Experience leading multi-discipline engineering project teams.
  • Experience and a high degree of competency with MS Office Suite, specifically Excel, Project, Visio, PowerPoint, and Word-based process documents.
  • 7 years of experience in Aircraft Engineering, including experience in the design, certification and modification of aircraft electrical, systems or structures.
  • Experience with certification processes and requirements including Supplemental Type Certificate (STC), Organizational Design Authority (ODA), and other regulatory certification and airworthiness requirements.
Desired
  • 15 years of experience in Aircraft Engineering, including experience in the design, certification and modification of aircraft electrical, systems or structures.
  • Experience in both avionics and mechanical engineering design.
  • Experience with AutoCad, SolidWorks, or other engineering design software applications.
  • Experience with all phases of interior completions for narrow and wide body aircraft including project design, sourcing, planning, certification and execution of modifications.
  • A high-level of business acumen.
  • FAA A&P certificate or equivalent
