Forklift Operator/Material Handler

The position in question has (3) openings - the shifts/times are as follows:
(1) Saturday-Monday, 7am-7pm
(1) Monday-Friday, 7am-3pm
(1) Monday - Friday 11pm-7am
The Forklift / MaterialHandler are responsible for picking up the completed pallets of product fromthe production line area and placing them in the correct areas of thewarehouse based on the order. The position is also responsible for handwrapping pallets from the Shortening Line and from the Super Sacks linebefore placing in the warehouse. This requires the Forklift / MaterialHandler to also replace supplies as needed. Finally, the Forklift / MaterialHandler is responsible for charging the forklift before every break and endof shifts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (toinclude but not limited to)
Safety& Environmental Performance
Use of horn, strobe lights, and general safety precautions to prevent injuries
Retrain on all forklift equipment periodically or as needed
Following all GMP policies and procedures including safety glasses, seatbelts, etc.
Identify high-risk safety/productivity issues and help to remedy them.
Support full plant wide compliance with safety rules to further our goal of 0 accidents and encouragement of reporting and correcting near misses.
Encourage employees to look for ways to improve safety and production processes.
Prevent injuries by encouraging employees to work safely
WorkRequirements
Drive forklift throughout the floor to pick up packaged pallets of product and bring them into the warehouse
Drive the super sacks from the line to the warehouse and wrap them for storage and transportation
Wrap the cases on a pallet from the shortening line and then drive them to the appropriate section of storage
Pull orders to fit customer needs
Load trucks
Move product to create space for inventory
Operate hand held scanner to pull customer orders
Operate scanners
Help in Receiving as needed
CostControl
Always looking for new ways to save the company money
Reduce the amount of rework by participating in employee involvement, process improvement and adherence to process guidelines
Contribute to the effort in controlling costs and minimizing waste in your daily work
Qualifications
High school diploma/GED
Basic computer skills
3 years' experience operating a forklift in warehouse environment
Ability to operate a handheld scanner
Working Conditions

Physical Requirements
Requires the ability to do basic math.
Able to communicate with management and co-workers is required.
Lift packages that are delivered some up to 50 lbs.

Frequent twisting to operate forklift backwards
Visual requirement to drive the forklift and read computer screens
