Title: Cost Estimation Support (Must have DoD experience) Client: Federal Agency Ability to Work: Remote Clearance: Active Secret Work Schedule: 8 am - 5 pm (must work Eastern standard hours) Work Day: Monday – Friday Job Description: The Cost Estimation Support role involves providing detailed cost estimates for projects, assisting in developing budgets, and supporting project financial planning and management. The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure accurate and reliable cost projections. Key Responsibilities:
Develop detailed cost estimates for projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and other direct and indirect costs.
Utilize cost estimation software and tools to create accurate and comprehensive cost projections
Assist in the preparation of project budgets based on cost estimates.
Support the financial planning and management of projects by providing accurate cost data and analysis.
Analyze historical data, market trends, and other relevant information to inform cost estimates.
Identify potential cost risks and provide recommendations for mitigation.
Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of cost estimates, assumptions, and methodologies.
Ensure all cost estimation activities are well-documented and easily accessible for review.
Work closely with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for cost estimates.
Communicate cost estimates and related information effectively to project teams and management.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of the cost estimation process.
Stay updated with industry standards, best practices, and new technologies related to cost estimation.
Required Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in cost estimation, financial analysis, or a related field.
Experience in construction, engineering, or manufacturing is a plus.
Strong analytical and numerical skills.
Proficiency in cost estimation software and tools (e.g., RSMeans, CostX, or similar).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
