Our client is a brokerage firm. They seek a Payroll Manager to join their Manhattan, NY office.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations for US payroll, tax filings, and W-2s
• Provide coverage support for Puerto Rico and Canada payrolls
• Evaluate the impact of employee mobility on payrolls and review payroll reporting
• Ensure appropriate monitoring and compliance with state and federal regulations
• Update payroll processes and controls to ensure operational efficiency and compliance
• Uphold compliance with all federal, multi-state, and local payroll regulations
• Liaise with the HR system team on Workday updates, releases, and improvements
• Work with vendors on company registrations, tax notices, and tax reconciliations
• Prepare schedules, calculations, processes, and system changes/updates as needed
• Answer employee inquiries and develop employee communications

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 8 years of multi-state payroll
• Deep understanding of reporting requirements
• Able to implement regulations and updates
• Excellent analytical and data processing skills
• Understanding of HR processes and information systems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Flexible and able to prioritize in a fast-moving environment
• Proven experience in project management
• Skilled in Excel (V lookup/Pivots) and Workday
