Abacus Group is Hiring a Procurement Manager Near Frisco, TX

Job Summary

We are looking for an energetic and motivated individual to be a Procurement Manager. From our Dallas office, you will bring your expertise to managing our small but rapidly growing procurement group. This position will consult directly with clients (internal and external) and the team members to research and offer solutions.

You will manage the team to ensure needed orders are placed, delivered, and processed to meet our client and internal needs across the US and the UK. Working with the Director of Procurement, you will develop, implement and lead the processes and the team to ensure end-user software licenses are properly ordered, allocated and managed; as well as needed stock and inventory is readily available.

Moreover, you will work with our Accounting and Finance teams to ensure client orders are paid in a timely manner and financial reconciliations are completed expeditiously to facilitate monthly client billing and financial reporting.

The right individual will have a strong knowledge of computer/networking hardware; can communicate well and in a professional manner with clients, internal teams, and vendors; and have prior inventory management skills. This individual should also be willing to learn and expand knowledge of some financial reconciliations around Gross Margin and necessary reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Procurement/Inventory group, including:
  • Consult with clients and internal teams to provide solutions for hardware/software needs
  • Develop, implement and manage the process of software license entitlements / billing.
  • Manage the process of placing, receiving and transitioning to other teams needed hardware/software
  • Guide the team to:
  • maintain and updating inventory system of internal hardware, periodically auditing hardware inventory
  • maintain storage room, including general organization/cleanliness and receiving incoming shipments
  • Tag incoming internal hardware and enter into inventory system
  • Enter requests to re-stock internal hardware
  • Place re-stock orders with suppliers, as well as negotiate pricing with suppliers
  • Assist with allocating hardware for client projects
  • Coordinate periodic pickups with hardware recycling company to dispose decommissioned hardware
  • Communicate with internal teams about stock shortage and/or delays
  • Hire new team members as needed and provide both onboarding and ongoing coaching to ensure their growth and success
  • Create content for ongoing training and development
  • Support team through professional development plans
  • Provide clear and tactical feedback to team
  • Work with other teams to strategically solve problems and project manage
  • Generate ad-hoc inventory/COGS reports to ensure timely billing
  • Work with accounting/finance to reconcile Product Resale and Cost of Goods Sold on a monthly basis

  • Prior PC/Peripheral sales a plus

Qualifications

  • HS diploma
  • 2-5 years technology sales/customer service experience
  • 2-5 years inventory management experience
  • High degree of understanding of computer and networking hardware products (e.g. Fortinet, Palo Alto, Juniper, Cisco, HP, Dell, Lenovo, and Surface)
  • Prior experience working with software licensing a plus (Microsoft Direct / Indirect CSP, Adobe Creative Cloud, and SaaS backup/security products)
  • Prior experience working with ticketing and quoting systems a plus (e.g. ConnectWise, ServiceNow, CPQ, QuoteWerks)
  • Familiarity working within in an MSP environment
  • Professional demeanor
  • A great attitude and a willingness to learn from and contribute to our Abacus team
