Our client is an asset management firm. They seek a VP of Accounting Policy to join their Manhattan, NY office.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and prepare material sections of the SEC 10-Q/K filings
• Oversee and ensure timely filing of the SEC 10-Q/K
• Drive implementation of new SEC reporting requirements
• Produce material sections of the quarterly earnings supplement
• Prepare Stand-Alone Financial Statements for Subsidiaries
• Develop a strong relationship with the firm’s external auditors
• Handle all SOX controls related to financial reporting
• Work with finance, IT, and internal audit teams on SOX requirements
• Support the annual risk assessment and identify potential internal audits
• Assess complex accounting issues and prepare position papers

Requirements

• 6 years of SEC reporting experience
• Financial services or real estate industry background
• Experience working with senior-level executives
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• CPA required
• Skilled in Workiva and W-Desk preferred
