Abacus Service Corporation is Hiring a Litigation Legal Assistant Near Boston, MA
BA/BS degree and/or ABA paralegal certificate. One to three years of work experience, preferably in a legal environment with litigation experience.
The individual must a strong work ethic, the ability to learn new skills, and excellent judgment. The candidate will have strong attention to detail, exceptional communication skills (both oral and written), and be able to multitask while managing competing deadlines. Time management and organizational skills are a must as is the ability to take initiative and follow up on open tasks in a timely manner. This individual should be proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and have the ability to learn new technologies quickly. Must know basic office procedures (e.g., formatting of business letters, etc.). Experience with federal and state court electronic filing processes a plus.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (35 hours/week). This is to provide coverage for a departing employee with an open-ended end date - will need someone until the position is filled. As of now, we anticipate needing someone until September 6, but the assignment could run either less or longer.
This is filling in for an open position in the department, so there is a possibility of conversion.
