Senior Engineer (Kick Off Call held 12/12) ssignment through EOY with possibility for extension in 6 month increments/conversion to FTE NGDV Plant Vehicle Team 100% onsite in Spartanburg, SC- no option for hybrid or remote work Must be US Citizen Possible travel to Oshkosh, WI, less than 5% Interview Process: 1 round of phone screen, 2nd round onsite or video
Minimum, required qualifications: 1. BSME or BSEE 2. Mechanical Engineering Experience 3. Automotive manufacturing environment experience 4. Automotive Product Design (not plant equipment) troubleshooting and root cause analysts
Experience that is not required but is a plus: 1. High Voltage BEV experience 2. Automotive software programming/CAN network analysis 3. CATIA experience There will be no CAD design work with this position. Only need the ability to navigate CAD to aid in troubleshooting.
The Sr Engineer - Mechanical designs functional, reliable and cost effective, heavy duty vehicle components. Perform engineering analysis and design or re-design, and development of components into existing and new vehicles. Provide integration and execution support for vehicle and component design.
YOUR IMPACT: Under supervision, perform engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks as assigned according to Oshkosh as well as general industry engineering standards and processes. Support more senior engineers in the preparation of plans, designs, computation methods, and/or reporting. Responsible for a project or part of a project of limited complexity. May be responsible for managing multiple projects. Collaborate as needed with other engineering or business support disciplines internally as well as suppliers externally. Provide guidance or mentorship to entry level engineers, designers, or technicians working on a common project. Maintain effective communication with suppliers, internal and external customers, and outside resources concerning technical issues. Enforce the proper use of engineering criteria and drawing standards. Ensure that technical issues are conducted within the framework of company policies and procedures. Evaluate designs for performance, safety, and reliability. Perform and Directs preparation of layouts, drawings, specifications, and bills of material. Perform engineering analysis to support the selection of parts, components, and materials that meet requirements. Provide technical assistance for production support. nalyze and resolve issues reported to Engineering via verbal or written communication. Prepare technical proposals, quotations, reports, and presentations. Create and maintain project documentation for analysis, research, and historical records. Utilize analytical and mathematical approaches to calculate or model system performance and optimize designs. nalyze and resolve issues reported to Engineering and communicate status via verbal or written communication. Other duties as assigned. Regular attendance is required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: ccredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with three (3) or more years of related experience.
STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS: ccredited Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Mechanical knowledge of automotive or heavy-vehicle equipment and related systems. Experience with a high level CAD system. Hours per Day 8 Hours per Week 40 Total Hours 896.00
