(Planning will be completed for this instruction, and as such no prep time will beafforded.)● Transition students/classes safely up and down stairs, across the building, and across the district-wide campus.● Collects and records data on student performance.● Performs duties as assigned including but not limited to arrival, dismissal, lunch, and recess.● Provide coverage for teachers around the building as needed.● Attend physical education classes with the students they support.● Attend meetings as needed including before and after school.● Performs as part of a team and acts to promote collegiality and professionalism at all times.● Exemplifies the character virtues of our school.● Provides a favorable learning environment, ensuring that the instructional area is arranged in a clean and orderly manner and allinstructional materials are readily available and well maintained.Preferred Qualifications:● Associate’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.Equipment Used:Basic office equipment including but not limited to computers, copy machines, laminators, walkie talkies, and projectors.Work Environment:While performing the duties of this job, the employee mostly works inside, but there are occasions where time is spent outside invarious weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate but can be noisy, depending upon thetask at hand. Specific activities may generate dust and/or non toxic fumes.Physical Requirements:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk and hear, as well as write, type, and use their handsand fingers. The employee is also required to stand for long periods of time, stoop, reach, and kneel. Walking up and down stairs,across the building, and campus are required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision. Some lightlifting and/or carrying may be required.Compensation:Full Time Exempt Salary Position in accordance with the established Instructional Assistant’s Salary Scale.This is a 40 hour per week 10 months a year non-exempt hourly position.
