Current school district employees are required to complete online application process.Position SummaryThe Behavior Technician Supervisor has the knowledge and skills necessary to support Staff during the process of design and development of academic and behavioral supports for students enrolled in the Aberdeen School District. This includes the coordination of Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans, collaboration with families and community-based services, monitoring of student progress and the supervision and mentorship of Registered Behavior Technicians. The Behavior Technician Supervisor also provides classroom and school-wide behavior management strategies.
Minimum QualificationsEducation and Experience:
  • Master’s Degree
  • Experience developing and implementing all aspects of Behavior Intervention Plans, preferably in a school setting
  • Bilingual/Spanish preferred
  • Required**:
  • Hold and maintain a valid Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification
Licenses/Special Requirements
  • CPR/First Aid may be required.
  • Valid BCBA certification
  • Criminal Justice Fingerprint completed and cleared

Duties And ResponsibilitiesPrimary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
  • Ability to work closely with students, teachers, Registered Behavior Technicians and other school staff to develop and implement effective behavior intervention plans.
  • Foster a positive learning environment and ensure that all students have the support they need to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
  • Demonstrate ability to conduct functional behavior assessments (FBA’s) to identify the root causes of challenging behaviors.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized behavior intervention plans (BIP’s) for students.
  • Collaborate with teachers, school psychologists, counselors, registered behavior technicians and other staff to integrate behavioral strategies into students’ educational plans.
  • Provide training and support to school staff and parents of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and the implementation of BIPs.
  • Collect and analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and make necessary adjustments.
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute to the development of IEP goals and objectives.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of assessments, plans, and progress reports.
  • Stay current with best practices in behavior analysis and continuing education requirements for BCBA certification.
  • Provide supervision of Registered Behavior Technicians.
  • Support Registered Behavior Technicians to assist staff in: defining and measuring behavior; understanding principles of reinforcement; teaching new behavior; implementing strategies for weakening behavior; and identifying antecedents.
  • Facilitate team meetings that: design Behavior interventions Plans; address classroom organization, effective instruction, social skills instruction, and ethical issues; School-wide Positive Behavioral Support; and factors that affect effectiveness including social validity and treatment integrity.
  • Work with individual teachers, groups of teachers and/or the entire staff on issues such as: crisis intervention, learning and collaboration issues, and factors that can affect development and implementation of interventions.
  • Promote highly specialized positive behavior interventions in which “at risk” students thrive: behavior instruction that is explicit, intensive, accelerated and provides ample practice.
  • Use ongoing assessments to maintain a record of student progress.
  • Develop a repertoire of assessment strategies consistent with instructional goals, teaching methods, and individual student needs to more accurately assess student behavior skills and understandings.
  • Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned

  • Work cooperatively with building administrators to promote positive student behavior by providing professional development that targets research, strategies and modeling of instructional practices to support teachers in their implementation of positive behavior support in their classrooms.
  • Continually supervise students to ensure a safe, non-threatening, nurturing environment where students can thrive.
  • Engage in on-going professional development to increase knowledge and skills of positive student behavior support for all students, targeted students and students who represent sub-group populations.
  • Engage parents in the “student behavior intervention plan” process and empower parents by providing them with skills and techniques to support the positive behavior development of their child.
  • Review behavior referrals and SWIS data reports
  • Participate in building level study team and/or grade level meetings, as appropriate
  • Consult with school Registered Behavior Technicians, counselors, building leadership and teachers
  • Attend professional development opportunities to maintain high level of skill and knowledge of current research and practices
  • Serve as a consultant to Registered Behavior Technicians, administrators, teachers, and parents
  • Organize and schedule time commitments to meet demands of the job
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures; report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve District, building, departmental and/or grade level goals
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill
  • Maintain regular attendance report as indicated by the district
  • Comply with District Policy and procedures
  • Remain objective, fair and open-minded
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, and parents.
  • Evidence of skill in oral and written communication.
  • Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and School Board policies.
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Ability to maintain high ethical standards.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deal with emergencies in a calm and effective manner.
  • Ability to organize ideas, time, and materials to accomplish goals.
SALARY: Competitive, commensurate with experience: $102,141.00 - $112,956.00
