Designation: Project ManagerDuration: Full TimeLocation: York, PASalary: 85,000 and 105,000About The Jobwell established Mechanical Contractor doing business throughout South Central Pennsylvania, has a position available for a Construction Project Manager with experience in Commercial and Industrial MEP Project ManagementPrimary PurposeTo oversee construction projects from conception to completion while working in conjunction with the Operations Department and Field Operations teams. Direct report to Operations Manager, reports to General Superintendent and President
Typical DutiesResponsible for meeting project milestones and deadlines and maintain an accurate schedule
Maintaining an accurate project budget
Responding to customer/owners requests and concerns
Negotiating and purchasing project equipment, materials and subcontracts
Scheduling and Project Profitability for Mechanical, Plumbing and Piping systemsCoordination and Oversight of project team
Feeds field operations of assigned projects with necessary schedule, documents, budget and all other relevant project information
Prepares and deliver reports to the operations department regarding budget information, manpower status requirements and overall project well-being
Identify and mange risks to ensure milestone activities are met in a safe working environment
Develop and implement solutions to identified mechanical, plumbing and/or piping to problems with project team
Assist in coordinating and directing subcontractors, inspectors, and contract office personnel.
Coordinates with other departments, including safety, drafting, pre-construction/estimating and appropriate managers and staff elements.
Manages accounts receivable for assigned projects to ensure timely payments are made
Requirements10 years' experience successfully managing mechanical and plumbing projects in the medical, pharmaceutical, industrial and heavy commercial market segmentsTracks and manages budgets for assigned projects.
Responsible for developing and updating project schedules; facilitating planning and design processes; coordinating design reviews; facilitating the solicitation, negotiation, and award of assigned projects.
Estimate and administer change orders and/or work within an estimating team to create change orders
Engages with the Engineering Team and customers throughout the project, coordinating and assisting in the development of project requirements, scopes of work, drawings, cost estimates, Requests for Information, technical evaluations, and other project related documents as required by the contract.
Ensure projects meet validated specification and code requirements.
Serves as the design and construction liaison with the owners as required.
Maintains current project documents and data for assigned projects.
Manage multiple projects during construction.
Attend construction meetings and document company action items
Assists in solving problems that arise during construction, and the preparation of contract related documents required during construction such responses to Requests for Information and Change Orders.
Keeps current on relevant codes and industry practices.
Uses computers/computer software such as information management s systems, scheduling programs, spreadsheets, and project tracking programs to solve engineering problems and facilitate work.
Reasonable for managing the close out meeting after the project is complete
Makes sure the job tree or similar file management structure has all the necessary information including close out documentation. (As-built drawings, O&M Manuals, Warranty information etc.)
Maintain an appearance of professionalism through appropriate dress attire, language and demeanor.
