POSITION DESCRIPTION

Position Title : ABAC Migrant Education Program Consortium Specialist

Job Description : The Supplemental Service Provider (SSP) provides supplemental academic services to eligible migrant students.

These services may be held before, during (inclusive or pull out), or after school, and / or on weekends. All student academic services are based on student needs.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Provides supplemental services-instructional guidance, tutorial, and other support services for 125-150 migrant students following an Implementation Plan.
• Consults with teachers regarding student academic needs. Coordinates tutoring time, location, and individual student needs based on the teacher's guidance.

Provides tutoring to students using multiple innovative methods, including in-person and virtual services.

• Monitors the academic progress of migrant students through report cards / progress reports, ongoing monthly school and / or home visits, and maintains student data.
• Serves as a liaison between the migrant office, the schools, and the families.
• Attends required training / professional development and staff meetings.
• Collects and compiles weekly, monthly, and end-of-the-year reports and other data required for program application, compliance reports, and annual evaluations.
• Completes and reviews MEP required forms regarding participant qualification and services within specified deadlines.
• Complies with ABAC required documentation and reports.
• Works with State Recruiters in identifying and recruiting eligible migrant students.
• Works closely with MEP contacts and local schools to collect student information, identify local resources, and identify potential tutors.
• Maintains a list of local resources in each district and refers participants to other programs and services, as needed.
• Uses the Migrant Student Information Exchange (MSIX) database to help facilitate student record transfer for Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) and parents.
• Manages time well using Outlook calendar to plan weekly schedules. Calendars are shared among Consortium Staff.
• Follows Implementation Plans and meets with Consortium Specialists, school contacts, and / or teachers via phone, online, or in-person to discuss student academic needs, and progress, and schedule tutoring adjustments, as needed.
• Supports the MEP Consortium Coordinator with Parent Advisory Council meetings, College days, and parent-teacher conferences as needed.
• Complies with weekly and monthly ABAC and MEP required documentation (i.e. Effort Detail Report & Certification, weekly schedule, Pre and post-assessments, call logs).
• Participates in ABAC and MEP professional development and training, as required.
• Perform duties assigned by GaDOE to meet the implementation plan, and CLIP needs.
• Office setting with minimal lifting or physical requirements.
• Travel throughout the region will be required.
• Flexibility to work weekends, and / or evenings will be required.
• Must hold a current Georgia driver s license.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

• Minimum Qualifications :
• Experience working with the temporary and seasonal farm worker population for one to five years.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Federal and State (Title I Part C) Migrant Education Program guidelines and requirements.
