We are Abrams Royal Animal Clinic, a privately owned clinic in the Lake Highlands community for 45 years, seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our fast paced clinic. The candidate will be proficient in providing support to our veterinarians while delivering the best service to our patients and clients.

Included necessary skills should be placing catheters, drawing blood, assisting with surgery, familiar with vaccines, computer skills, and exceptional customer service.

Basic Responsibilities:

• Support veterinarians in procedures using accurate restraint.
• Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds solo.
• Review vaccination records and prepare vaccines according to our protocol.
• Maintain and use equipment such as Idexx Procyte/CatalystOne and autoclave.
• Prepare samples for outside laboratory analysis.
• Monitor patients under anesthesia.
• Induce anesthesia and intubate a patient.
• Coordinate treatments and injections following the instructions of a doctor.
• Perform dental cleanings.
• Complete anal gland expressions, ear cleanings, and nails trims.
• Support our team members as needed.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of experience is a must.
• Professional appearance required; scrubs are to worn at all times.
• Required to be at work when scheduled and be timely.
• Work well independently and in a group in a small environment.
• Spanish speaking is a plus.
