Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager, Smaller Bank Controller

A highly profitable, multi-billion dollar Northern Virginia-based Community Bank has an immediate need for a hands-on Assistant Controller. With the Controller, the Assistant Controller will be responsible for all phases of accounting including month-end close, financial and regulatory reporting, Call reports and other regulatory reporting, payroll, budgeting, risk management, etc.

The Assistant Controller will be responsible to:

• Oversee daily operations of the Accounting Department and supervise staff; responsible for accounts payable, payroll, general ledger, month-end close, and financial statement preparation
• Prepare and assist in the preparation of all regulatory reports (SEC, FDIC, OCC, etc.) including the quarterly Call Reports
• Maintain investments of the bank, funds management, balance Federal Reserve Account
• Review the analysis of income/expense posting, budget variance analysis, analysis of profitability, etc.
• Coordinate information requests from outside auditors and regulatory officials as needed

Ideal Background:

• Experience at a bank or credit union is REQUIRED
• Strong financial reporting experience working for a bank
• Regulatory reporting experience is highly desired
• BS in Accounting or Finance
• Advanced Excel skills desired
• Good leadership, and communication skills
