Position: Paraprofessional
Location: Abraxas South Mountain
Immediate opening for PARAPROFESSIONAL at Abraxas South Mountain Leadership Development Program.
As a Paraprofessional, you will:
Assist teachers with the implementation of identified Individual Education Plans and lesson plans.
Help students in learning subject(s) in a manner that, will lead to the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional and psychological growth.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
. High School Diploma
. Associate degree or 60 credits from an accredited college or university (preferred)
. Completion of approved Para-Professional Certification
Salary: $20.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-time
Shift: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB AND ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS:
Direct Duties:
Ensures Compliance, with Educational Requirements
. Provides instructional support services to students in the classroom
. Assists teachers with preparing lesson plans and managing various classroom activities
. Is knowledgeable of student requirements, IEP's and Behavioral Support Plans for implementation
. Assists in the tracking and recording of student grades, records and assignments
. Understands individual student learning differences and characteristics to consider when supporting students
Assists Special Education / Teachers with Classroom Instruction
. Assist with the development of classroom agendas and track follow-up items when needed
. Assists with the implementation of JEP instructional guidelines for students
. Provides tutoring as needed for GED students and those students identified as needing assistance prior, during or after classes
. Assists in evaluating student progress and performance in the classroom
. Assists with classroom instruction / monitoring and group formation
Direct Care Responsibilities
. Provides direct care supervision of clients as needed and ensures program safety and people security is in place at all times
. Demonstrates appropriate and effective use of Safe Crisis Management training
. Supports and implements company philosophy and mission in promoting the Seven Key Principles of Care
. Communicates effectively using various internal systems effectively. Ensures regular communication, with peers, supervisors, customers and clients is professional at all times Maintains confidentiality of information related to clients
. Performs other duties as assigned to support educational programming and facility policy
. Implements and mentors employees regarding the company's policies on professional expectations, code of conduct and other practices and procedures, serves as a role model for clients and employees and supports the company's mission, goals and objectives.
. Maintains Safety & Security of Clients & Facility.
. Demonstrates appropriate use of Safe Crisis Management techniques and skills.
