Charge Analyst EP Part Time Days Position Summary
The Charge Analyst accurately charges for hospital procedural departments, audits charges, assures the integrity of the MRN, posts charge corrections/transfers for patient accounts. Performs a variety of data collection, scheduling, cross departmental coverage and support functions within the hospital procedural areas according to established guidelines and procedures.
SPECIAL SKILLS: Computer skills, including data entry. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel and Word. Ability to type/learn hospital/department computer programs. Perceive details in verbal or tabular material. The ability to retrieve, communicate or otherwise present information in written, auditory, or visual fashion is essential. The methods used to express or exchange ideas are by spoken or written word. Written, telephone and manual dexterity skills are also required. A high level of interpersonal skills in order to communicate effectively with various levels of hospital staff and other customers outside the hospital.
THE CHARGE ANALYST EP PART TIME DAYS CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.
MINIMUM EDUCATION: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Associates Degree in business or related field
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 1 year experience in hospital operations.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: At least one year of medical office/hospital experience including knowledge of ICD-9, CPT-4, and HCPCS charging, coding, and billing. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel and Word.
