Job Overview

The Project Engineer assists and supports the Project Manager and Superintendent on assigned projects, occasionally conducting, leading and/or participating in job site meetings. Maintains and leads day-to-day functions such as setting up, administering and working within standard operating procedures including but not limited to project start up and close out, cost reporting, contract administration, subcontractor compliance and project safety.

What You'll Do

  • Coordinate and exercise functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration and completion of assigned projects.
  • Prepare, administer, and monitor contracts, interface requirements, material orders, change orders, back charges, shop drawings, and claims.
  • Lead on-site construction engineering activities for a particular project, maintaining liaison with architect/engineer and owners regarding project progress and changes.
  • Attend weekly project meetings. Conduct owner meetings with project manager supervision.
  • Prepares interim and completion project reports.
  • Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
  • Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
  • Evaluates design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
  • Controls expenditures within limitations of the project budget.
  • Demonstrate commitment to a safe and injury free work environment through own actions and mentoring others

Why You'll Be Successful

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Engineering or Construction Management Certificate.
  • 3-5 years of industry experience.
  • Tech savvy
  • Broad understanding of construction industry.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including reading, writing, understanding and communicating clearly, effectively and professionally.
  • Perform appropriate math, including statistics, analysis and significant data or number manipulation.
  • Ability to read drawings and specifications.
  • Function effectively as part of a team.
  • Dependable and ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times.
  • Ability to understand and follow directions.
  • Good time management skills and organizational skills. Meets or exceeds specific deadlines, project schedules or other requirements.
  • Take initiative. Makes professional, educated and sensible decisions.
  • Can effectively develop, maintain and communicate schedules.

All benefits are dependent on start date; pro-rated for mid-year hires

The salary range for this position is $88,000 to $110,000 with the average starting salary in the 40th percentile range; commensurate with experience and training. This ensures we get you properly seated within our organization so that all parties feel good about our future together.
