Job DescriptionPosition: BOILER OPERATORLocation: COVINGTON, GAJob SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and experienced Boiler Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our boiler systems, ensuring that they meet all safety and environmental standards. The Boiler Operator will be tasked with monitoring boiler performance, conducting regular inspections, performing routine maintenance, and troubleshooting any issues that may arise.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Boiler Operation:
  • Operate and maintain high-pressure steam boilers and associated equipment
  • Monitor boiler systems to ensure efficient and safe operation
  • Adjust controls and valves to regulate steam and water levels
  • Safety Compliance:
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure working environment
  • Conduct regular safety checks and inspections on boiler systems
  • Respond promptly to any emergency situations or malfunctions
  • Maintenance and Repairs:
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on boilers and related equipment
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues, making necessary repairs or adjustments
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams for major repairs or upgrades
  • Record Keeping:
  • Maintain accurate records of boiler operations, inspections, and maintenance activities
  • Prepare and submit reports on boiler performance and any incidents
  • Efficiency Optimization:
  • Implement measures to enhance boiler efficiency and reduce energy consumption
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to explore opportunities for system improvements
  • Training and communication:
  • Provide training and guidance to junior boiler operators
  • Communicate effectively with team members and other departments
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Able to work irregular or extended hours, including weekends and nights as needed
  • Able to lift heavy equipments and work in confined spaces
  • Willingness to work in various weather conditions
  • Able to stand and be on feet for up to 12 hours
  • Must be a safety and quality conscious person
QUALITIFICATIONS:
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints
  • Teachable with the ability to demonstrate comprehension of sophisticated equipment and proven methodologies
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Boiler O&M license required
EDUCATION:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Boiler Operator
  • Familiarity with various types of boiler systems and their components
