A Mechanic I for Absolute Group is responsible for performing maintenance and repair on vehicles and light-duty trucks. Principal Responsibilities:
Performs routine and preventive maintenance, including oil changes and tune-ups
Identifies mechanical problems, either visually or with computer diagnostic equipment
Performs tests on specific parts and systems to confirm proper mechanical function; ensures that all critical parts are examined
Repairs or replaces malfunctioning parts and systems, such as brake pads, belts, water pumps, transmissions, and other mechanical parts
Performs further tests, which may include test driving the vehicle, to ensure repairs are completed correctly
Communicate with teams and vendors
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Valid Driver’s License and clear driving record
Master technician certification from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence preferred.
One to Three years of related experience preferred
Knowledge:
Extensive knowledge of all aspects of vehicle repair
Proficient with computer diagnostic equipment and software
Skills and Abilities:

Excellent mechanical repair skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to visually diagnose mechanical issues
Ability to read service and repair manuals and work orders
Ability to perform repairs in a timely fashion

Ability to always remain alert
Physical Requirements And Work EnvironmentWork may be stressful due to continual interaction with others, long hours required and the nature of the construction environment. Must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with this role including working safely in a noisy repair shop with odors present, good vision to inspect vehicles to determine repairs needed, prolonged standing, walking, bending, kneeling, squatting, sitting, stretching, stooping, twisting, lying, and reaching. Lifting up to 50 pounds regularly, and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
