We need experienced debur/lapper on Weekend Shift, which is Friday through Sunday 5:00 AM to 5:30 PM. You only work 36 hours per week but you get paid for 40 hours! Compensation is based on experience.

Job Summary:

Performs repetitive deburring operations by removing excess metal and surface defects from parts by polishing, grinding, and cleaning per engineering specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Sets up and controls operation of deburring and tooling machines.
• Reads blueprints, job order, and tooling instructions to determine tools and sequence of operations.
• Positions and secures deburring and cutting tools onto holding fixtures using hand tools.
• Adjusts and changes machine tools to ensure deburring meets company specifications.
• Set up and operate grinding, honing, lapping, or deburring machines to remove excess materials or burrs from internal and external surfaces.
• Cleans interior surfaces of holes and insure all foreign objects and debris are of the parts (F.O.D). as required.
• Inspects deburred parts to ensure conformance to quality specifications, using gauges and microscope and measuring tools as required.
• Changes tools on powered equipment such as hone and buffers.
• Knows and follows all safety requirements; strives to maintain a safe work environment and reports potential hazards to lead or supervisor.
• Must be able to function within a team environment.
• Maintain acceptable level of cleanliness in the work area.
• Meets job standards consistently and notifies the lead or manager if not or problem solve to achieve the times.
• Works with hand tools such as die grinders, drill presses, orbital sanders, buffers, knifes, bead blasting and other deburring tools.
• Possess good problem-solving skills and able to solve complex problems that occur.
• Train and mentor lesser skilled employees.
• Verify compliance of quality of parts deburred.
• Ensure part count and data entry is accurate and correct consistently.
• Accurately complete and maintain all paperwork.
• Work on defining practices the produce acceptable results in both quality and productivity. Work with lean, manufacturing and engineering on documentation of process.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED, or proven work history
• Basic math skills
• Minimum 1 year experience
• Ability to read and interpret technical data, in mathematical or diagram form.
• High attention to detail.

Work activities involve combinations of walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, bending, lifting and carrying and standing for extended periods and performing some very repetitive activities. Work requires the ability to see, hear and smell in order to detect problems. The work requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
