Business Development Representative (B2B)

We are looking for a curious, motivated, and reliable self-starter to join our team. We aim to find a person able to contribute to our growth and success by helping us reach the industry more effectively.
Your primary focus and responsibilities will include:
1. Client Relationship Management:
a. Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
b. Attend relevant trade networking events (like ABC/CAGC) several times monthly after initial training is complete.
c. Understand customer needs by asking the right questions and really listening to what they tell you.
d. Provide exceptional customer service to address inquiries, product information requests, and resolve concerns or issues.
e. Regularly follow up with clients so we can learn and improve our processes.
2. Product Expertise:
a. Develop and refine an in-depth understanding of our product line, features, benefits, and usage applications to effectively communicate with clients.
b. Stay updated with industry trends, new products, and competitor offerings to provide accurate and timely information to clients.
3. Sales:
a. Promote and sell our products to roofing companies (can extend to other construction disciplines but must stay within our current product lines).
b. Table at networking events (cadence determined collaboratively)
c. Identify and qualify leads - includes cold calling, email campaigns, referrals, and networking. Minimum of 50 calls/emails with new customers weekly once fully trained (Months 6 of employment)
d. Develop a sales "cookbook" based on customer research and abide by it
e. Prepare and deliver sales proposals (quotes), negotiate pricing, and close sales to achieve or exceed mutually agreed upon sales targets (set quarterly).
f. Collaborate with the internal team to ensure timely order processing.
4. Market Research and Analysis:
a. Conduct market research to better understand the needs of roofers.
b. Gather feedback and market insights to provide valuable input for product development, pricing strategies, and marketing initiatives.
c. Monitor competitor activities, pricing, and promotions to proactively adjust sales strategies and maintain a competitive edge.
Qualifications:
•High school diploma or equivalent. A degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
•Proven experience in sales, preferably in construction supply or roofing.
•Strong knowledge of construction supplies, PPE, tools, and construction materials, with the ability to articulate features, benefits, and reasonable alternative options. Knowledge of the roofing industry would be beneficial.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish long-term relationships with clients.
•Results-driven with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
•Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
•Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales tools.
•Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for client visits.
