Summary:
The candidate will be expected to design, engineer, and program direct control systems in high-end customer electrical and mechanical infrastructure, program direct digital control systems, understand basic mechanical and electrical system troubleshooting, and provide installation support services of newly installed systems.
Responsibilities:
- Design and engineer direct digital controls systems for new construction and retrofit projects.
- Programs and commissions programmable logic controllers and head-end computer systems as required per project scope.
- Provides installation, startup, and commissioning services for new and retrofit projects.
- Provides troubleshooting services for existing customer control, mechanical and electrical components.
- Completes assigned projects on time, within budget, and per contractual requirements.
- Interfaces with customer contacts on issues, strategies, and support.
- Excellent communication skills-both written and verbal.
- Ability to communicate on both a customer and management level.
- High degree of motivation, self-direction, commitment, and integrity.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with strong team orientation
- Valid Driver's license
- Associates Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering or equivalent job experience in the controls and automation industry.
- 5 years of experience installing, troubleshooting, and programming automation systems and integrating with third party equipment.
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office, Autocad, and Visio.
- Solid knowledge and practical experience with Computer Networks and advanced knowledge and practical experience of Automation and Control Networks.
- Advanced knowledge of the controls concepts and strategies for commercial infrastructure, building HVAC, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Strong understanding of commercial building Mechanical & Electrical operations.
- Understanding and practical experience with the Electrical and Electronics concepts associated with Direct Digital Control Systems (DDC).
- Experience programming any of the following product lines is preferred: Tridium Niagara (Ax, and N4), Reliable Controls BACnet, Trane Summit/Tracer, Siemens, Automated Logic, Johnson Controls FX.
